Floor Is Lava Versus Mode: Bots & Difficulty
Versus is a four-way race to the highest platform against three AI rivals — Roxy, Blaze, and Zippy. Beat them all to the top to win; lose, and non-Premium players pay a coin penalty.
What it does
You and the three bots all climb at once, and whoever reaches the highest platform first wins. Bot speed is controlled by the Versus CPU Difficulty setting (Easy, Normal, or Hard), found in Settings — higher difficulty makes all three bots jump noticeably faster, and Zippy is always the fastest of the three regardless of tier, with Roxy the slowest. Bots also get a little faster the further a race goes, so a close race tends to get tighter near the top rather than looser.
Losing a Versus race costs 30 coins as a loss penalty. Premium removes this penalty entirely; if you're not Premium, you can also watch a rewarded ad after a loss to get the 30 coins refunded.
How to play it
- Select Versus on the home screen's mode wheel, or use the bottom nav bar's Versus tab.
- Set your preferred bot difficulty in Settings under Versus CPU Difficulty, if you want something other than the default.
- Tap Play and race Roxy, Blaze, and Zippy to the top.
- If you lose, either accept the 30-coin penalty (waived automatically if you have Premium) or watch a rewarded ad to get it refunded.

Tips
- Start on Easy if you're new to Versus — bot jump timing gets meaningfully faster on Normal and Hard.
- Zippy is the fastest bot at every difficulty, so watch for it specifically if you're trying to judge how close a race is.
- If Premium isn't for you, the rewarded-ad refund makes losing effectively penalty-free anyway — just an extra tap after a loss.
