Floor Is Lava Piggy Bank: How to Get Your Coins Back

When you die, any coins you were carrying move into your Piggy Bank instead of vanishing. You get three separate ways to win or reclaim them: play Rock-Paper-Scissors right on the death screen before they're even banked, watch a rewarded ad to claim them instantly, or open the Piggy Bank and play one of four mini-games. Premium players never deal with any of this — they simply never lose coins on death.

What it does

Dying costs you a death penalty of up to 30 coins (see Coins — earning & spending), and whatever's left of your held coins gets moved into the Piggy Bank if you leave without recovering them. The Piggy Bank icon sits right on the home screen next to your coin counter — tap it any time to open the Piggy Bank screen and see your saved total.

Premium removes the entire system: there's no coin penalty, no Piggy Bank, and no RPS or reclaim buttons to click, since there's nothing to recover in the first place.

How to get your coins back

You get one shot at the mini-games (or RPS) per death — starting any one of them locks the others until your next death sends more coins to the bank. Watching an ad, on the other hand, isn't limited to one attempt and works any time you have a Piggy Bank balance.

1. RPS — Save Coins (right on the death screen)

Before your coins are even banked, the game-over screen (and the Versus loss screen) offers a "🎲 RPS — Save Coins!" button — a quick rock-paper-scissors round against the CPU. Pick your move, then confirm. Win or draw and you keep your coins outright, no banking involved. Lose, and your coins move to the Piggy Bank — but the round is weighted in your favor: the CPU only wins 10% of the time, so you win or draw the other 90%. On a Versus loss, this same button appears on the results screen instead, working the same way.

2. Watch Ad — Reclaim Piggy Coins

A green "📺 Watch Ad — Reclaim Piggy Coins!" button sits right under the RPS button on both the death screen and the Versus loss screen, and also appears as its own card inside the Piggy Bank screen. Watch the full rewarded ad and your coins are credited immediately — no game to win, no risk of losing them again. This is the only recovery option not limited to one try per death.

3. The four Piggy Bank mini-games

Tap the Piggy Bank icon on the home screen (or the Piggy Bank card after a death) to open the Piggy Bank screen. You freely pick which of the four mini-games to play — it's never assigned at random. Win and your entire Piggy Bank balance moves back into My Coins. Lose, and the bank stays exactly as it was; you'll need another death (or an ad) to get another shot.

Mini-gameWhat you actually doWin conditionLose condition
🧮 Math ChallengeSolve one on-screen equation (addition, subtraction, or multiplication, with numbers 1-12). Subtraction is never rigged to go to zero or negative. Answer correctly.Answer wrong — one try only, bank stays put.
🎴 Memory MatchFlip cards on a 3×3 grid (8 playable cards forming 4 emoji pairs, plus 1 decorative freebie tile that's already "matched" for you).Match all 4 pairs. No fail state by itself — mismatches just flip back face-down, so you can keep flipping until you clear it.
⚡ Reaction TestWait for the box to turn green, then tap it — across 2 rounds, target average is 450ms or faster.Beat the 450ms target on both rounds. Tap before it turns green (instant loss), or your average across the 2 rounds is too slow.
🔤 Word ScrambleUnscramble one game-themed word (e.g. "lava", "climb", "platform") from its shuffled letters.Type the correct word. Type the wrong word — one try only, bank stays put.

Older planning notes describe the Math Challenge as "3 questions" — that text still appears on-screen in the mini-game's card description, but the actual game only asks a single question before deciding win/lose. Likewise Word Scramble is a single word, not multiple rounds. This article documents what the code actually runs, not the leftover card text.
